Parisian bakery that went viral for hand-rolled extra-butter croissants and its limited "Petite Céréale" croissant cereal.
L'Appartement 4F runs a sidewalk queue on Montague Street. The Brooklyn Heights shop is takeout-forward with, in its own words, "first-come, first-serve seating only" — no reservations for the bakery counter. The line is the seating waitlist and the pastry waitlist at the same time.
The draw is scarcity. The shop's FAQ says it produces "around ten boxes of cereal a day" of the viral Petite Céréale croissant cereal, and that "the croissant cereal sells out daily." There are no pre-orders and no shipping; the FAQ states in-person is the only way to buy it. That structure pushes the crowd to the front of the day.
Regulars manage it by going early and going midweek. The FAQ advises "coming as close to 8 am as possible" and notes "lines are much shorter on weekdays." The Wanderlogue NYC guide pegs the takeaway wait at "about 10-15 minutes... depending on the length of the line," and "maybe an hour or so if you are able to snag a table."

The Wanderlogue NYC guide estimates about 10-15 minutes for takeaway depending on the line, or up to an hour if you're waiting to snag a table. Lines form on the Montague Street sidewalk and run longer on weekends.
The shop's own FAQ recommends "coming as close to 8 am as possible" and notes lines are "much shorter on weekdays." A weekday morning right at the 8am open is the reported sweet spot.
Yes. The shop's FAQ says it makes "around ten boxes of cereal a day" and that the croissant cereal "sells out daily." There are no pre-orders or shipping, so it's in-person only, near opening.
Not for the bakery. The FAQ states there is "first-come, first-serve seating only" at the Brooklyn Heights location. The upstairs wine bar, L'Apéro, suggests reservations but accommodates walk-ins.
8am daily, per the shop's FAQ. Closing is 6pm Monday-Tuesday, 5pm Wednesday-Friday, and 4pm on weekends.
